Marit Nybakk

Marit Nybakk (born 14 February 1947 in Nord-Odal) is a Norwegian politician, Labour Party member, and Vice-President of the Norwegian Parliament, the Storting. She is currently, following her re-election in 2013, her country's longest-serving member of parliament.
Nybakk was first elected as a parliamentary representative for Oslo in 1989, and was re-elected in that role in 1993, 1997, 2001, 2005, 2009, and 2013. She had also served earlier, in the 1985–1989 Storting, as substitute representative standing in for Gro Harlem Brundtland when the latter (in accordance with the constitution) resigned her role as parliamentary representative in order to form the Second Bruntland Cabinet. Nybakk became a full representative in 1987 following the sudden death of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Knut Frydenlund.
She was Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defence between 2001 and 2005, and has been actively involved with foreign and security policy in later years.
Nybakk was leader of the Oslo chapter of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (''LO i Oslo'') in the early 1990s.
